Aligned to Common Core and state standards

How Lessona maps to the framework you actually plan against.

Lessona maps every American lesson to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) where they apply (English Language Arts and Mathematics, K-12, in 41 states). For the states that do not use Common Core, Lessona's lesson generator switches to the state's specific standards: Texas TEKS, Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL), Florida B.E.S.T., Nebraska LEARNS, Alaska ELA + Math standards, South Carolina College- and Career- Ready Standards, Indiana Academic Standards, and Oklahoma Academic Standards. Set the state in your teacher profile and plans default to the right framework.

For Science, lessons align to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) where adopted. For Social Studies, the C3 Framework (College, Career, and Civic Life) is the default across most states; state-specific standards (like New York's K-12 Social Studies Framework or California's H-SS) override where set.

Coverage runs Kindergarten through Grade 12. Lesson plans cite the standard code (e.g. CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.4.1 or TEKS §110.6 (b)(7)(C)), the strand, and the I Can statement. Differentiation runs three ability levels (Below, At, Above) with EL (English Learner) scaffolds when an EL group is set in your class context.

Common questions

What American teachers usually want to know before signing up.

Does Lessona align to Common Core?

Yes, where Common Core applies. The 41 Common Core states have ELA and Math lessons aligned to CCSS codes. For Texas, Virginia, Florida, Nebraska, Alaska, South Carolina, Indiana, and Oklahoma, lessons align to the state-specific standards (TEKS, SOL, B.E.S.T., LEARNS, etc.).

What about NGSS and the C3 Framework?

Science plans align to the Next Generation Science Standards where the state has adopted them. Social Studies plans align to the C3 Framework as the default, with state-specific overrides (NY K-12 Social Studies Framework, California H-SS, etc.) when set in your teacher profile.

How does Lessona handle state standards I don't use?

Set the state and grade you teach in your profile. Lessona's lesson generator pulls the correct standards framework for your context. You will not see TEKS codes if you teach in Massachusetts; you will not see CCSS codes if you teach in Texas.

How much does Lessona cost for American teachers?

US$13.99 per month, billed monthly in USD via Stripe. There is a 7-day free trial that includes 3 lesson plans, 2 presentations, and 5 printable resources, with no credit card required. Cancel any time. School and district subscriptions are invoiced annually with discounted per-teacher pricing.

How is Lessona different from MagicSchool, Eduaide, or Brisk?

MagicSchool and Eduaide are the two largest US-origin AI teacher tools and have substantial standards libraries. Brisk is a Chrome extension that adds AI features inside Google Docs and Slides. Lessona is the international option: same product, five English-speaking curricula in one tool. If you teach in the US only, MagicSchool or Eduaide may have a deeper US standards library; if you teach across borders (international schools, military families, expat teachers), Lessona travels with you.

Is Lessona compatible with SOL, AP, IB, or state testing prep?

Standardized test prep is not a separate Lessona module. Plans for the relevant ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies standards cover the skills these tests assess. For AP and IB, Year 11 and 12 plans can cite the AP Course and Exam Description or IB syllabus when set in your context.

Has Lessona been tested with US teachers?

Phase 1 testing with NZ teachers wrapped up in April 2026 and the product passed. Phase 2 is now underway with elementary, middle, and high school teachers in the US, covering Common Core, NGSS, and state-standards alignment. Findings from this round are folded into the US templates before full public availability later in 2026.
